The theme

This year, you can choose from the two themes listed below. If desired, you can try to combine both themes in your edit, which will give you a bonus point! Don't mess it up, though, or it might lower your score. Creative interpretation of these themes is permitted and encouraged, so don't let us box you in!

Gamer Gooning

"I wanna play that!" - Create an edit that's either based on a videogame or something related to gaming culture. Maybe a character from a videogame comes out of the screen, or the other way around! As long as we get to choose the difficulty...

The d-d-D-DROP

"Make us go crazy waiting!" - Foreplay is important, and nothing feels better than an intense climax after a long, slow build-up. How long can you make us last before you make us pop?

An important change this year is that all submissions, judging and voting will be centralized and done through this website. When submissions open on May 6th, a submission form will be available on this page where you can upload your PMV. Submissions not uploaded to this site will not count. We do recommend you that also upload your submission on PMVHaven and include the link in your submission.

Your edit should include one or both of the 2026 themes (The d-d-D-DROP or Gamer Gooning)

New edits only, no remixes or rehashes!

All primary performers appearing in the video must be credited, either during or at the end of the video.

The video must be no more than 6 minutes long (including title and/or credit screens).

You must submit your PMV on this website between May 6th and May 13th

Your file title must include "World PMV Games 2026" and your (creator) name

Include a World PMV Games 2026 title card in the video. Use one from the asset pack below or create your own!

Edits must not contain minors or any felonious footage

Judging

Judging Criteria

This year, we will judge entries using Hot (🔥) and Cold (🧊) scores. Hot ratings are based on how much you love what works. Cold ratings are based on How much the issues bother you. Ranking is based primarily on the Hot score, Cold scores are weighted lower.

Because we expect a large amount of entries, judges will perform a preliminary global score which will result in 20-25 finalists. These finalists will then be judged in more detail, and can be voted on by the public. Voting happens on this website, and can be done through a ranking view, or by using the same judging panel that the judges use.

If you use both themes in your edit, the score for both themes will be averaged, but you will get a bonus point!

Frequently Asked Questions

You can start making PMVs by downloading a video editor of your choice (for example DaVinci Resolve, which is free) and following YouTube tutorials to get to know the software. Gather your favorite clips, select a song you like and get started! For more tips, resources and feedback, make sure to join our Discord server.

You join the PMV games by submitting a PMV through this website during the submission window, which you can find in the "schedule" section of the current year. Make sure you've read all of our rules before submitting.

A popular website to watch PMVs is PMVHaven.com. There are also creators with their own website, like xfeeefeee (xfeeefeee.net) and NoodleDude (noodledude.io).
